On February 1st, 2008, the Marc Steiner Show was cancelled. The days that followed have seen an outpouring of support from listeners via email and in daily public demonstrations outside of WYPR. But more needs to be done to make WYPR and the WYPR Board of Directors understand that the decision to fire Marc Steiner should be reversed.
Sign the petition to bring Marc Steiner back to WYPR, then let The Baltimore Sun know you want them to keep covering this story by emailing both: Letters@baltsun.com and publiceditor@baltsun.com. Click here for petition.
Last month WYPR chose to postpone the Board of Directors meeting. Now it will occur on April 15th at 3 p.m. in a meeting open to the public. The April 15 board meeting will be held at Church of the Redeemer, 5603 North Charles Street, in Baltimore. Send an email to all members of the Board of Directors and ask them to restore The Marc Steiner Show and investigate WYPR daily management practices as the best thing to do for WYPR, Maryland, and the community. Click here to send an email to all 21 members of the WYPR Board of Directors.
File a complaint about the firing of Marc Steiner and also about WYPR management's ignoring of the WYPR community with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's Ombudsmen. Click here for the CPB Ombudsmen.
